Parks Neil Brathwaite playing in the Over 50s World Cup this month

The best of luck to Neil and the England team who start their World Cup campaign this week. Below is a summary of the event and the England team.

 

Over 50’s World Cup

 

The inaugural Over-50s Cricket World Cup will be held in Sydney, Australia between 20th November & 5th December 2018 most major Test-playing and Cricket nations have entered a team. It promises to be a very exciting occasion!

Joining England Counties 50+ will be 7 other International teams, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Wales, Canada & Pakistan. The competition will be played on Premier Sydney Sheffield Shield, Grade and Shires grounds, including Bowral and Manly. The competition has been endorsed by Cricket Australia, Cricket NSW, Australian and NSW Over 50s Cricket Associations, Veterans Cricket Australia and the NSW Umpires Association.

 

Each team will play each other once in a round-robin series. Following the completion of this stage, the top 4 teams will play semi-finals culminating in a Grand Final on Wednesday 5 December 2018 for the 50s Cricket World Cup. England Counties 50+ are also playing against Australia in three ODI’s.

Invitations to join the England Counties 50+ Squad were made following trial games at the outset of season 2018 and consistent performances during the 2018 Over 50’s County Championship.
