Match report Oakfield Parkonians CC eased to a comfortable nine-wicket victory over Frenford CC in their 4th XI league fixture, chasing down a modest target with more than 14 overs to spare. Frenford won the toss and elected to bat first, but never really found their rhythm against tidy Oakfield bowling, eventually being bowled out for 119 in 32.3 overs. Ayaan Azam was the standout with a fluent 44 off 53 balls, striking five fours and a six, but he found little support as wickets tumbled around him. A late rally from Armaan Qaisar, who finished unbeaten on 28, along with a useful last-wicket stand with Bhavyameet Singh, helped drag the total past three figures, though 119 always looked short of competitive.



Oakfield’s bowlers shared the wickets around impressively. Mazhar Minhas and Lakshmi Narayanan led the attack, each taking four wickets for just 26 runs off their nine overs, effectively strangling any momentum Frenford tried to build. At the other end, Kavinkumar Veloopillai was equally disciplined, going wicketless but conceding only 15 runs from 7 overs, keeping the scoring rate down and giving Frenford little room to counterattack.



In reply, Oakfield made light work of the chase. Awn Minhas set the tone with a brisk 53 off 60 balls, striking eleven boundaries before being dismissed by Rome Bopara — the only wicket Frenford’s bowlers managed all innings. Mark Gager anchored the run chase superbly, finishing unbeaten on 38 from 45 balls, and was well supported by a quickfire cameo from Sayem Ahmed. Oakfield cruised to 121 for 1 in just 17.4 overs, sealing a comfortable nine-wicket win and picking up 20 points to Frenford’s none.
