Match report Oakfield Parkonians CC, Essex 4th XI produced a clinical all-round performance to claim a convincing nine-wicket victory over Orsett & Thurrock CC 4th XI.

Having elected to field, Oakfield’s bowlers quickly took control, reducing Orsett to 33-4 before maintaining the pressure throughout the innings. Although the middle order battled hard, regular wickets prevented any meaningful partnerships as Orsett were dismissed for 99 in 32.1 overs. A. Premkumar led the attack with an excellent 4-20, while M. Minhas, K. Veloopillai and L. Narayanan each claimed two wickets.

Chasing 100 for victory, Oakfield lost an early wicket when M. Gager was trapped lbw by J. Wilson for 14. However, A. Minhas and T. Ranjith ensured there were no further setbacks, combining for an unbeaten second-wicket partnership. Minhas anchored the innings with a composed 44 not out, while Ranjith added an assured 33 not out as Oakfield reached 103-1 in just 21 overs to seal an emphatic win.
