Match report Parks travelled to Wickford looking to build on the previous week's momentum and bring home a full 25 points.
Oakfield Parkonians won the toss and elected to bat first on what looked like an exceptionally flat deck.

The innings got off to a flyer thanks to an explosive start from captain Krishan Dilipkumar, who made a sharp 31 before falling somewhat tamely. Faisal kept the scoreboard ticking as reliably as ever, batting superbly for his 76. He rotated the strike with ease on his way to a sixth league fifty of the season, looking in complete control until he was unlucky to be bowled by Chirag Desai.

At the other end, Mannan Arora produced one of the innings of the season. He smashed a sensational 143 off just 88 balls, a knock featuring 13 fours and 9 towering sixes, one of which even shattered a window. It was a magnificent display of power and control as he dominated the attack from the moment he walked out to the crease. He was ably supported by Suryasankara LN, who played some crisp shots on his way to a third fifty of the season, including a massive blow over the leg side. With a mammoth 348 on the board, Parks declared after 42 overs, leaving Wickford 53 overs to chase down the target.

Wickford’s reply began steadily with an opening stand of 56, before the returning Upen Sanga claimed the crucial breakthrough by removing Tom Merritt for 27. Desai looked comfortable at the other end for his 46, but was eventually dismissed trying to reverse-sweep Aman Ali (3-72). From there, the host's reply began to stall through a distinct lack of intent. Charlie McKenna batted stoutly for his 54, but on such a flat pitch, prising out the final three wickets proved too steep a task, and the match ultimately ended in a draw. The pick of the attack were Aman Ali with his three-wicket haul, alongside tidy spells from pacemen Bijay Basnet (1-29) and Gowtham Sanga (1-6).

Next week, the side travel to Colchester, where they will be eager to secure a win and close the gap on the leaders.
