Match report Neo CC Defeat Oakfield Parkonians by 75 Runs. Oakfield Parkonians were left to rue missed opportunities as Neo CC claimed a convincing 75-run victory after posting 228 for 8 from their allotted 50 overs before bowling the hosts out for 153 in 39.2 overs.

Having won the toss and elected to bat, Neo CC made a steady start despite early setbacks. Oakfield struck twice inside the opening stages, with Sifth Ali removing Muhammad Asif and Maruf Chowdhury cheaply to leave the visitors struggling at 12 for 2. However, opener Akshay Majgaonkar proved the difference between the two sides with a magnificent century that anchored the Neo innings.
Majgaonkar showed tremendous patience and composure throughout his 141-ball knock, striking 15 boundaries on his way to 101. He rebuilt the innings alongside Zeeshan Khan, whose 22 provided valuable support in a partnership that settled the visitors after the early wickets.
The Oakfield bowling attack worked hard to keep the scoring in check. Sifth Ali was particularly impressive, producing an excellent spell of 2 for 31 from 11 overs, while Rian Parmar bowled economically without reward. The breakthrough eventually came when Taranpreet Bhatia removed Zeeshan Khan, but by then Neo had begun to establish a platform.
The middle overs saw Mohammad Hasan Mahmud provide crucial acceleration with 45 from 58 deliveries. His partnership with Majgaonkar carried Neo towards a competitive total before Paran Kalley produced a decisive spell. Kalley struck twice in quick succession, claiming both Mahmud and Juwel Roy caught and bowled, before clean bowling Salman Ahmed to finish with impressive figures of 3 for 40 from eight overs. Bhatia also claimed three wickets, including the prized scalp of centurion Majgaonkar shortly after he reached three figures.
Despite the late wickets, Neo finished strongly on 228 for 8, a total that always looked challenging on a surface offering assistance to disciplined bowlers.

Oakfield’s chase never truly gained momentum. Bilaal Anwar and Shahariyar Chaudhry attempted to provide a solid foundation, but Azhar Rabby struck twice to leave the hosts 18 for 1 and then 41 for 3. The situation worsened immediately when Salman Ahmed dismissed both Manoj Sarathchandra Dinayadura and Ryan Karunakaran, reducing Oakfield to 41 for 4.
With the innings in danger of collapsing, Umar Choudhry and Navine Sureshan showed tremendous resilience. Choudhry led the recovery with a determined 60 from 77 balls, supported admirably by Sureshan’s patient 31. Together they added 95 runs for the fifth wicket and briefly raised hopes of an unlikely comeback.
However, once Sureshan was bowled by Ahmed with the score on 136, the innings unravelled rapidly. Ahmed was devastating with the ball, claiming five wickets and destroying the middle and lower order. Rabby provided excellent support with 3 for 51, while two sharp run-outs further dented Oakfield’s resistance.
The final wickets fell in quick succession as Oakfield were dismissed for 153, handing Neo CC a deserved victory by 75 runs.

For Oakfield, Umar Choudhry’s fighting half-century was the standout batting performance, while Paran Kalley’s all-round contribution of 3 for 40 and a sharp display in the field offered positives. Ultimately, however, Majgaonkar’s superb century and Ahmed’s match-winning five-wicket haul proved the defining performances in a game that Neo controlled from the middle stages onwards.
