Parks won the toss and elected to field, Shenfield made a steady start before Parks struck twice to reduce them to 42-2. Theo Robinson made 19 and Sam Bear added 11, but neither batter could build a substantial innings. William Howard briefly counterattacked with an entertaining 27 from 27 balls, including six boundaries, but his dismissal triggered a collapse. From 61-4, Parks tightened their grip on the game. Selva Ramasamy removed David Hickey for a duck and later accounted for Tom Arnold, who battled hard for 34 from 88 deliveries. Ryan Karunakaran then ripped through the lower middle order, dismissing Jamie Walton, Caleb Seleka and Ollie Todd in quick succession as Shenfield slumped to 104-8. At that stage, Parks looked firmly in control, but a crucial ninth-wicket partnership shifted the momentum. Alex Rickenbach played a composed and aggressive innings of 49 from 60 balls, striking six boundaries, while Oliver Castell supported him calmly with an unbeaten 19. Their stand carried Shenfield to a competitive total that ultimately proved just enough.

In reply, Parks chased confidently and appeared on course for victory for much of the innings. However, regular wickets prevented them from fully taking control, and they eventually finished on 189-7 in 38 overs. The innings got off to the worst possible start when Bilaal Anwar was dismissed for a duck by Tom Arnold in the opening over. Paresh Kalley and Ryan Karunakaran rebuilt steadily, with Ryan looking fluent during his 34 from 42 balls. Umar Choudhry then anchored the chase superbly. His composed 54 from 69 deliveries, featuring seven boundaries, gave Parks a platform to push for victory. Manoj Sarathchandra added valuable support with an aggressive 32 from 38 balls, including a six, and together they took us into a strong position at 149-4. Shenfield fought back admirably through Caleb Seleka, whose miserly spell of 2-21 from 10 overs applied immense pressure in the closing stages. Tom Arnold also claimed three wickets, while Alex Rickenbach and Oliver Castell chipped in with one apiece.

Despite a brief wobble that saw Oakfield Parkonians lose three wickets for 26 runs, Navine Sureshan held his nerve with an unbeaten 18 to guide the hosts home. Shenfield eventually crossed the target with three wickets remaining, sealing a hard-fought victory after an absorbing contest between bat and ball.
