Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Won by 9 wickets

Match report OPCC 5th XI put in a dominant display and chased down at home to comfortably beat Hornchurch 5th XI by 9 wickets with 17.2 overs to spare in a 40 over game.
The chase got off to a great start with a brilliant 120 run opening stand between Waqar Yusaf (52) and youngster Awn Minhas, who finished unbeaten on 68. Their steady and composed partnership set the platform leaving just a few runs for Terry Ranjit to smash a quick 22 and wrap things up in style.
Earlier, Hornchurch won the toss and chose to bat on a flat pitch. They got off to a steady start through openers Harshit Shah (16) and Rikhil Patel (13) before Nav Kalley made the breakthrough bowling Shah with the score on 35. Kalley (8-35-3) was spot on throughout his spell, and Manicks (8-37-2) kept things tight at the other end.
Despite losing wickets early on, Hornchurch skipper Graeme Farquhar came in at number 7 and turned the momentum with a brutal 62 off just 31 balls. He built useful partnerships with Kaushik Patel (25) and Dhrish Patel (21), but his innings was cut short thanks to a stunning catch by Terry Ranjit at deep long off, off the bowling of Vijay Vijayanathan, who finished with 3 wickets. Aryan Chavan also chipped in nicely with 2 wickets. Hornchurch were eventually bowled out for 153 in just 22.4 overs.
All in all, a comprehensive win for the 5s who will be looking to keep the momentum going as they host a strong Brentwood 5th XI this coming Saturday.
