Match report Oakfield Parkonians 4th XI travelled to Buckhurst Hill and came away with a confident 6-wicket victory, underpinned by a composed bowling effort and a steady chase on a challenging surface.

Buckhurst Hill were bowled out for 142 in 37.2 overs, with Parkonians’ bowlers delivering consistent pressure throughout. Mazhar Minhas was exceptional up front, setting the tone with a tight spell of 2 for 21 from 8 overs. The standout, however, was Gowtham Sanga, who ripped through the middle and lower order to finish with an impressive 4 for 22 from 6.2 overs, including the final wicket to wrap up the innings. Contributions also came from Lakshmi Narayanan (1 for 29) and Tanay Shetty (1 for 20), while Kavinkumar Veloopillai himself claimed a wicket via a sharp stumping by Amar Desai. The fielding unit remained alert and committed, with two excellent catches from Amar and a direct-hit run out from Awn Minhas swinging momentum in Parkonians’ favour.

In response, the run chase had a few early stumbles, but Chamara Manoj Jayawardana anchored the innings superbly with a fluent 60 not out off 45 balls, including 12 boundaries. He was supported in key partnerships by Siddharth Barua (20) and Reuben Chandy (19), who helped lay a stable foundation. Parkonians chased down the target comfortably, reaching 143 for 4, sealing the win with overs to spare.

Captain Kavinkumar praised the team’s disciplined bowling, sharp fielding, and Chamara’s match-winning innings. A well-rounded performance and a deserved win on the road — Parkonians 4th XI continue to build strong momentum moving forward.
