Match report Oakfield Parkonians 3rd XI travelled to Hutton and delivered a commanding performance with bat and ball to secure a 163-run victory, showcasing top-order brilliance and ruthless bowling discipline. Fazan Habib won the toss and elected to bat first, confident in the team’s ability to set a strong platform.

The innings was anchored superbly by Umesh Jinka, who crafted a patient and elegant 94 off 124 balls, holding the innings together. He was supported by a destructive knock from Ali Khan, who smashed 65 off 61 deliveries, including 11 boundaries and a six, to inject momentum into the innings. Following on, Rian Parmar continued his excellent form with a fluent 62 off 55 balls (his third 50+ score in a row), timing the ball sweetly and rotating the strike with ease. Captain Fazan Habib added the finishing touches with an unbeaten 30 off 21 balls, helping propel the total to an imposing 299 for 6 from 50 overs.

Defending a big total, Parkonians wasted no time in applying pressure. Aryan Desai JNR struck twice early, removing two batsmen in his first two balls. The real damage, however, came from Zain Mohid, who produced a game-changing spell, taking 5 for 48 from 8.2 overs, tearing through Hutton’s middle and lower order. Praven Sureshen supported brilliantly with 2 for 25, while the fielders backed up the bowlers with sharp catches — Umesh Jinka particularly outstanding with three grabs behind the stumps.

Hutton were bowled out for 136 in just 28.2 overs, unable to recover from the regular fall of wickets and pressure applied by Parkonians throughout the innings. A smart run-out from Rian Parmar added to the momentum as Parkonians closed out the match clinically.

Fazan Habib praised the team’s balance, composure, and ability to sustain pressure across both innings. A near-flawless display that underlines the squad’s growing confidence and cohesion heading into the next phase of the season.
