Match report In their first home league game of the season, Parks came in with enthusiasm and a bolstered squad, welcoming back a few key regulars. Orsett won the toss and elected to bat first.

Parks started strong with the ball, taking wickets at a regular enough cadence. All bowlers contributed effectively, with standout performances from Murugadass and young Nivain, who each claimed three wickets. Rian, Janeban, and Sachin also chipped in with crucial breakthroughs. While the team conceded an extra 20–30 runs due to missed fielding and dropped catches, they were overall satisfied to restrict Orsett to a total of 197 at the half-way mark.

In response, Parks’ openers Krishan (23) and Ibad (34) provided a solid platform. However, the innings lost momentum when spinners Jamie Flan and Numan Nawaz applied pressure with tight, disciplined bowling — keeping things simple but effective with a wicket-to-wicket line. This disrupted the middle order, and despite a valiant 29 from Rian, Parks ultimately fell short of the target.Finishing yet again shy of the target, it marked the second consecutive week Parks lost a match they felt was within their grasp. It was a tough but timely lesson — individual responsibility and composure in key moments will be crucial going forward.

Still, with plenty of positives to take, the team remains optimistic as they look ahead to next week's home fixture against Chelmsford.
