Fresh from last week’s victory, Oakfield Parkonians began positively. Openers Faisal (51) and Neil (29) laid a strong foundation with a 67-run stand. However, the quick dismissals of Neil and Shahariyar left the visitors at 69/2.

Faisal, in good touch, combined with Aman (27) to rebuild, but the departure of both set batters stalled the innings at 130/4. With wickets tumbling regularly and the middle order unable to contribute significantly, Oakfield slipped to 167/8.A vital late contributions from Zain Mohid (28) and Aryan Desai (21)* gave the innings respectability, pushing the total to 226 before being bowled out in the 43rd over.

Second Innings – Wickford CC 2nd XI: 227/8 (42.4 overs)

Chasing 227, Wickford suffered an early blow with their captain run out by Aryan Desai. The home side’s No. 2 and No. 3 batters responded well, putting together a counter-attacking stand that took them to 72/2. Oakfield’s bowlers fought back, taking wickets at regular intervals to keep the game alive. Shahariyar (2/47), Aryan Desai (1/15), Zain (1/37), Nikhil (1), and Praven (1/24) all chipped in, applying pressure throughout. However, a few missed chances in the field and crucial dropped catches swung the momentum back in Wickford’s favour.
Despite Oakfield’s efforts, Wickford held their nerve and crossed the line with two overs to spare, finishing on 227/8.
