Match report OPCC 4s beat Upminster 5s by 76 runs

Upminster won the toss and opted to field first on their home turf at Campion School. Parks' innings got off to a rocky start, with returning batsman Santron Thivaharan departing early without scoring. However, opener Krishan Dilipkumar (30) and the in-form Upender Sanga (51) stabilised the innings, scoring freely and setting a solid foundation. The middle order provided strong support, with all the next six batters reaching double figures. Notable contributions came from Chamara Jayawardane (37), Keerthi Thangavel (42), and Siddarth Barua (32*). Thanks to a collective team effort, Parks finished their innings at 258-8 after 40 overs.

In response, Upminster’s openers started well until Gobi Jeevakumar made the first breakthrough as the first-change bowler. Skipper Kavinkumar Veloopillai (8-1-14-2) applied pressure on the middle order with his economical spell, claiming two key wickets. Colt Taney Shetty (8-1-41-2) also played a crucial role, taking two important wickets in the middle overs. Upminster's lower order showed some resistance, with Aalok Latey (37) and Dylan Marshall (30) building a partnership. However, Siddharth Barua (7.2-1-20-3) and Gobi Jeevakumar (5-0-20-3) bowled exceptionally well at the death, dismissing Upminster for 182 and securing a well-deserved 76-run victory for Parks.

With one game remaining, Parks are well-positioned to aim for second place in the league.
