Match report OPCC 4s drew with Woodford Green 3s

After losing the toss, Parks were asked to bat by the high-flying Woodford Green who were 2nd in the league. Despite losing the toss, it turned out to be favorable for Parks, as they preferred to bat first in the good batting conditions. Parks lost opener Terry Ranjit early on, but returning player Ibad Usman showed some resilience before departing for a well-made 20. The backbone of Parks' innings was formed by a partnership between Number three batsman Upender Sanga (49) and Chamara Jayawardana (43). Parks ultimately posted a total of 217 all out after 45 overs, with additional contributions from skipper Kavinkumar (19), Mazhar Minhas (16), Taney Shetty (15) and Siddharth Barua (14). For Woodford Green, Zaid Jilani was the standout bowler, taking 5 wickets.

In response, Woodford Green's openers started cautiously against a tight bowling attack from Upender Sanga (9-3-25-2) and Mazhar Minhas (6-1-27-0). Middle-order batsman George Paleit played very well for his 51 before being bowled by a lethal in-swinger from Siddharth Barua (7-0-37-2). At the 23-over mark, the match was still evenly poised. After the drinks break, Woodford Green came out aggressively with the intent to win. However, Parks' bowlers maintained pressure throughout the second half of the innings, preventing the opposition from gaining momentum. In the end, Woodford Green settled for a draw, scoring 200-7 in their 40 overs. Kavinkumar Veloopillai (7-0-43-2) was the other noteworthy bowler for Parks.

Parks currently ranked 7th in the league, only 15 points behind the 4th place team. With a tight race at the top, they have everything to play for in the upcoming matches.
