Match report Parks hosted Fives & Heronians for their season's first home game at Oakfield under overcast skies. The visitors won the toss and opted to field first. Parks' openers faced a disciplined bowling attack early on, making runs hard to come by. However, a fast outfield and a flat pitch eased scoring as the innings progressed, allowing Parks to reach a competitive total of 193. Opener Colt Ayaan Usman displayed maturity with a patient 39 (strike rate 63%). Number three batsman Yash Patel demonstrated his top-order prowess with a well-crafted 56 (strike rate 88%), while Mazhar Minhas added a quick 30 (strike rate 107%) in the middle order.

In response, F&H started aggressively, racing to 70 runs in the first 13 overs. Upen Sanga (8-1-28-2) made the initial breakthrough with a caught and bowled. Effective middle-overs bowling from skipper Kavinkumar Veloopillai (8-2-25-2) and Yash Patel (7-1-32-2) slowed the run rate, leaving the opposition needing 20 runs in the last two overs with two wickets remaining. Young pacer Terry Ranjit (6.4-0-34-2) bowled accurately and with composure under pressure, cleaning up the tail and securing Parks' first win of the season by 6 runs.

This victory was much needed for Parks, who can take many positives from the match. They posted their highest total of the season, took all five catches offered in the field and bowled out a team on a bating track. Special mention goes to debutant wicketkeeper Chamara Manoj Jayawardana for his excellent performance behind the stumps.
