Match report Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club 3rd XI welcomed Hadleigh & Thundersley for the first league game of the season. In his captaincy debut, Fazan Habib won the toss and elected to field. Hadleigh & Thundersley struggled against the disciplined bowling attack led by Sachin Arora and Rameyaan Selvamohan. Although they didn't take many wickets, they set a solid benchmark for the rest of the attack to follow. After an injury forced all-rounder Syed Muttaqeen to exit the game early, captain Fazan Habib stepped up and, surprisingly to himself (and others), bowled 9 overs, conceding only 10 runs and taking 4 crucial wickets. He and Satish Chaudhari (2 wickets and only 22 runs conceded in 9 overs) bowled well in tandem, not allowing the batsmen to accelerate at any point during their spell, maintaining consistent lines to keep the pressure on the opposition batting lineup. The highlight of the innings was a stunning low diving catch by a youthful Sachin Arora at cover. A more mature and confident Praveen Sureshen then cleaned up the tail pretty swiftly with 2 wickets. Oakfield Parkonians' bowlers' combined exceptional bowling & disciplined fielding efforts limited Hadleigh & Thundersley to 106 runs in 37.5 overs. The top scorers for the opposition team were Mushraf Iqbal (16 runs), Alastair Graham (15 runs), and Joshua Scanlon (12 runs).

In response, Oakfield Parkonians started cautiously but eventually won the match with ease, chasing down the target of 107 in 16.3 overs and losing only one wicket. Santron Thivaharan was the star batsman, scoring an unbeaten 56 runs with 9 fours and 1 six.
