Match report Parks went into this game with a batter heavy side (total of 10 Batsman) against a Brentwood side fighting to reach the top of the table with a win. Brentwood skipper won the toss and elected to bat first. New comer Rasheed Siryala and captain Jonathan Balakumar opened the bowling and picked up a wicket each to dismiss both opening batters. On came the spin duo of Aman Ali (3/51) and Prajen Kavinkumar (2/53) bowling a total of 29 overs between them picking up 5 wickets for only 104 runs. This tight bowling was complimented well by the 2XI fielding display. The best fielding performance so far this season. Nikhil Roy-Mukerjee only needed two overs to pick up two wickets, one of which was a very athletic caught and bowled. This ended the innings of Brentwood on 215-9.

Parks confident, that our deep batting order can achieve the win, had a very rocky start as the team were 27-3 within the first 10 overs. At this moment out walked Mannan Arora. Mannan and opener Sahil Handa (52) both dug in and batted sensibly until Sahil was dismissed for a very crucial and anchoring 52. Mannan Arora continued his sensible innings until he reached his half century. Soon came the onslaught. Manna Arora started being aggressive scoring a total of 13 4s and 2 6s which led him to score his season high of 99, one short of his century from a controversial LBW decision. Contributions from Prajen Kavinkumar (15) and Rohit Ananeraj (22) took Parks over the line in the 42nd over.

Great win from the lads, overall team effort and an outstanding team performance. This game is a perfect example of the phrase ‘Catches win Matches’.
