Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Won by 28 Runs

Match report Parks lost the toss and were inserted on a cool overcast day at Oakfield. Unlike in some previous weeks, Parks batted sensibly up until the drinks break, losing only 1 wicket in the first 20 overs. This was thanks to Neil Brathwaite, who contributed a composed 58 and Aman Ali with a mature 50. This created a platform for the hard hitting middle order to build an imposing score. Venkata Jinka got things moving with a quality 48 in quick time and the lower order continued to hit out despite some wickets falling. 260 was a good score and Parks felt confident going into the second half.

South Woodford cam out int he second innings looking to score quickly. There was some wayward bowling to start and the scoreboard moved along quickly. Captain Jon Balakumar picked up the crucial wicket of opener Dylan Dhanjal, and after that, Parks began to squeeze with the spinners. The pitch started to turn more as the game went on, and Sharaf Samsudeen playing in his first 2s game exploited these conditions and took 3/34. Aman Ali (2/40) and Pranav Khetia (2/51), also helped to turn the screw. Whilst South Woodford put up a spirited fight, eventually the huge total was too much and South Woodford ended on 232 all out with a couple of overs unused.
