Match report After winning the first 3 games, Oakfield Parkonians travelled to Woodford Green looking to make it 4 from 4. Stand in skipper Sifth Ali won the toss and elected to bowl first. The opening bowlers started the innings well and bowled tight areas. Anujan Thiru (10-3-25-1) was the pick of the bowlers, he controlled the first 20 overs and helped us to control the first half of the innings. He was well backed by Priyamal Perera (10-0-37-1) who was tough to put away and varied his pace well. Woodford Green ended their innings on 255 for 8 which was a little hurtful as they were 90 for 4 at 25 overs and felt that we let them get away with 30-40 runs too many.

We started the chase ok and conservatively, but after 10 overs we lost 3 wickets in quick time and all of a sudden we were on the backfoot. This bought to the crease Bilaal Anwar (50) and Priyamal (82) who put on a big partnership for the fourth wicket. They put us back in the hunt and it was Bilaal out of the two who was the aggressor and put the pressure back onto Woodford Green. But just like when it seemed as though the tide was turning and Parks were back in the driving seat we lost wickets and continued too after that. It meant that Parks were always in a uphill battle and as a result were bowled out with a few overs to go and ended up with the first loss of the season for 41 runs. Tough one to take considering we bowled so well in the first half of their innings but we got a big two games coming up against Horndon.
