Match report Oakfield Parkonians CC triumphed over Westcliff-On-Sea CC with a six-wicket victory in a high-scoring encounter. Westcliff-On-Sea posted a formidable 302/6 in their 50 overs, led by Charlie Lockhart’s outstanding 130 runs. Carl Lees and Finlay Mackay contributed 39 and 27* runs respectively, while extras boosted the total with 38 runs. Oakfield Parkonians’ bowling saw Paran Kalley impress with 2 for 29, and Taranpreet Bhatia taking 2 wickets despite conceding 64 runs.

In response, Oakfield Parkonians chased down the target in 45.5 overs, reaching 304/4. Priyamal Perera remained unbeaten on 94*, he batted with ease and controlled the chase for Parks from the moment he entered the crease. There were quite a few spectators that witnessed the innings from Priyamal and were impressed by what they saw from the Parks overseas. He had significant support from Faisal Bhatti (86) who opened the batting and steered the ship from ball one him and Umar Choudhry (63) put the pressure on the bowlers during the early period of our innings and put us in a good position to be successful. Then entered Paresh Kalley with a superb 38* who ensured a smooth chase for Parks and rotated the strike well with Priyamal and both saw us home to see Parks start the season 2 from 2 in the league.
