Match report 4s lost to Chingford 4s by 7 wickets

Home side Parks lost the toss and were asked to bat by visiting Chingford. Park's innings started in the worst possible way when Chetan Patel was bowled on the very first over by an in-swinger from the South African left-arm seamer, Nick Van-Arkel. Things did not go well from there as the top-order batsmen gifted their wickets away by playing loose shots, and Parks were left reeling at 37-5 by the 10-over mark.

Experienced middle-order batsman Gurmit Bhatia was the only player to show any application on a flat pitch, scoring a patient and valuable 45 runs while wickets fell all around him. Parks ended their innings in a hurry, with a very disappointing total of 95 all out within 28 overs!

In reply, Parks openers Manicks Shankar (4-3-4-0) and Nikhil Roy-Mukherjee (7-1-23-1) bowled tight lines to apply pressure early on. Debutant seamer Janeban Selvamohan (5-0-30-1) bowled with pace and picked up his first wicket for 4 runs. Kaj Skandamoorthy bowled well to remove the dangerous Bernhard Storm, but in the end, 95 is always a difficult total to defend on a flat pitch that is suited for batting. In the end, Chingford won comfortably by 7 wickets with 17 overs to spare.

For the second week in a row, Parks' batting did not fire. They now face an uphill challenge to stay in the competition for the top half of the leaderboard and need to work hard in the coming weeks to turn their fortunes around.
