Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Won By 6 Wickets

Match report The U16s played their final game of the group stage knowing that a win could potentially take them to the Quarter Finals. Captain Krishan Dilipkumar won the toss and elected to field first.

Charith (1-28) and Vajran (3-20) got Parks off to a cracking start with the loss of 3 wickets within the first ten overs immediately putting Frenford on the backfoot. Ashwin too came on and bowled the Frenford number 5. Nikhil Mukherjee yet again bowled with great control and with variation of speed and flight to cause problems for the Frenford side just as it seemed as if they were getting back into the game with a strong 45 from Abdullah Shahzad who was ably supported by Tauheed Altaf with 22. However Prajen came in and put any chances of a rebuild to halt with Frenford being bowled out for just 154.

Krishan Dilipkumar and Ayaan Usman went out to open and started with a balanced approach, with Krishan looking to get set before being bowled by the legspin of Tauheed. Ali Khan came in and continued to gently rotate the strike before he and Ayaan too were dismissed. Prajen was next in and ensured there was no collapse with 21. However the real star of the batting innings was Charith who has shown glimpses of his talent with the bat this season scoring a fine 40* with an array of great shots, alongside Vajran who dispatched a ball for six. Parks ended up winning comfortably with 6 wickets still in hand.

It still is uncertain if the U16s have passed to the Quarter Finals but fingers crossed that they will have made it through!
