Match report Home team Walthamstow won the toss and elected to bat on a wicket that had more ups and downs than a roller coaster. Opening bowlers Manicks Shankar and Thomas Vernes both took a wicket each within the first 3 overs to leave Walthamstow 14-2. However, most bowlers struggled to keep their line due to the steep climb on both ends of the pitch allowing the batters to settle in without much pressure. Pick of the bowlers for parks was Gurmit Bhatia (11-0-51-3) who bowled a marathon 11 over spell taking 3 wickets. Parks once again gave away way too many extras and dropped few chances allowing the opposition to declare at 248-6 after 43 overs. For Walthamstow, number 3 batsman Mustafa batted well scoring an unbeaten 102.

In replay Parks lost both openers Amar Desai and Fazan Habib in the first six overs with the score at 23. Walthamstow opening bowlers bowled very well with pace and accuracy to deny any easy scoring shots. Accepting a win is not on the cards, Parks captain instructed the batsman to bat out the overs and collect many points as possible. Gurmit Bhatia played the innings of his season to score an eye pleasing 88 and helped to collect the 3 out of the 4 batting points available. Akhil Patel supported Gurmit well at the lower end with an unbeaten 16. In the end Parks drew the match scoring 182 - 8 and walked away with 5 points.

A disappointing result for the first time-game. Nevertheless, a very good experience for the younger players in the team to understand what temperament and mind-set required to complete in this format going forward.
