Match report Oakfield Parkonians won the toss and elected to bowl first on a flat track. Things couldn’t have started off better for parks as Sachin Arora (9-4-12-1) bowled out of his socks hitting consistent lines and lengths and delivering an absolute peach to dismiss Upminsers captain and opener. Yash Patel (9-2-34-2) carried on from his fine form in the previous week to back Sachin and Nimanka De Silva. Upminster were 69 for 3 after 23 overs, and OPCC new the next 20 overs would be important, introduction of Prajen Kavinkumar (9-0-40-1) (who was very unlucky to only get the on wicket , constantly beating the bat with his spin) and skipper Matthew Holland (5-0-30-3) had a positive impact as wickets were constantly falling, however, the final 10 overs meant Upminster posted 211.

Oakfield couldn’t have asked for a better start as openers Chetan Patel (60) and Krishan (33) showed their class and how flat this pitch actually is. A couple of quick wickets bought Luke Coates(51*) to the crease returning for his first game of the season, he started how he means to go on; executing crisp cover drives and lofted shots over mid-on. Luke was supported brilliantly by young gun Prajen Kavinkumar (29) finding the gaps with ease to boost his score.

Oakfield Parkonians move up to 5th and only 14 points off top playing bottom of the league next week hoping to get into one of two of the promotion spots.
