Match report This week we welcomed top of the table Old Brentwood. Parks won the toss and elected to bowl first. It was a green wicket and seemed like it was the perfect bowling conditions. Skipper Paran decision to bowl couldn't be more wrong. The pitch was a beautiful batting track and Old Brents batted with caution and rotated the strike well. No batsmen gave the bowlers a chance and meant Parks would have to work for their wickets. The batsmen batted well and put the pressure on Parks from the get go. Parks did well to drag it back in the middle overs as it looked as though Old Brents would get over 320. The death bowling from Parks wasn't up to scratch and meant Old Brents were able to post a more than competitive score of 288 off their 50 overs.

Parks needed to have a flawless chase in order to reach the 289 off our 45 overs. Each Parks batsmen got off to a start but wasn't able to convert. They weren't able to go on and get the big scores needed to chase this big total. Which was disappointing as after such an amazing chase last week the boys backed themselves to get this target. But the main thing is we didn't allow Old Brents to get the 25 points and means Parks are just 26 points off the top 2 after playing exactly half the games.
