Match report Oakfield Parkonians travelled to Orsett and Thurrock looking for our first timed win game of the season. Skipper Paran Kalley lost the toss and Orsett elected to bat first. The wicket looked like it would be a tough one for the bowlers and Parks knew they would have to bowl extremely well. Parks struggled from ball one with the small boundaries and very quick outfield it looked as though batting first was the best decision. Orsett batted very well and put the Parks bowlers on the back foot throughout the innings. The pitch offered nothing for the bowlers and batting was really easy. Their overseas scored a chance-less 100 and put Orsett in a demanding position with 295 on the board. Meaning that Orsett declared with 2 overs to spare giving Parks 47 overs to try and chase 296 runs.

Openers Raihan Hussain (81) and Bilaal Anwar (25) started off our innings really well. They put on a 70 run partnership and set the game up really well. Raihan batted with maturity throughout his innings and steered the innings well. He was joined by Ravi Teja (94*) who batted with class as always. The pair ran well between the wickets and guided Parks into a position of needing 67 off just 9 overs with 4 wickets in hand. Ravi and Paran (34*) put the pressure on the Orsett bowlers and didn't look in trouble at all finishing the game. Parks chased down 296 with 2 overs to spare and it ended up being a well timed chase from the boys. It was a much needed win after 2 draws in a row and puts the boys in a confident mood going into the big game next week against table toppers Old Brentwood.
