Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Won By 41 Runs

Match report Finally, the 2021 U16 Matchplay started for OPCC with a match against Group 3 opponent Chelmsford C. C.
It was an away game and the weather was pleasant not very sunny but better than previous week, OPCC U16 captain Reuben Chandy won the toss and elected to bat.
We opened the innings with Nikhil Mukherjee and Ali Khan, unfortunately we lost our first wicket at 8 runs on the scoreboard, then Mannan Arora came in and we had a fantastic partnership of 137 runs between Ali Khan and Mannan Arora, who finally contributed 81 runs and 65 runs respectively. The innings were taken ahead by contribution of remaining players and OPCC finally managed to achieve 232 runs with a loss of 9 wickets at the end of 40 overs.
Opposition team started off their innings with a good run rate, OPCC Captain Reuben Chandy was trying his pace bowlers and spin bowlers, finally the break through came with Praveen Sureshan with an impressive spin spell, Praveen delivered his 8 overs by taking 3 wickets and gave only 29 runs , this was followed by Kajantis Skandamoorthy who in 5 overs took 3 wickets and gave only 15 runs, this was also helped by Zubair Raja spinning spell who took 2 wickets in 8 overs and gave 34 runs. With an impressive fielding and bowling by OPCC , Chelmsford C.C. got all out at 191 runs in 36 overs.
OPCC team won the game by 41 runs. Great victory
