Match report Going into this weeks game Parks were up against unbeaten Wickford who were sitting pretty at the top of the table, but Parks were full of confidence winning their last 4 games. Skipper Paran Kalley won the toss and elected to field first. Conditions were bowler friendly and it was a good toss to win for Parks. Openers Selvam Ramasamy (10-3-33-1) and Anujan Thiru (16-4-28-2) bowled excellently with the new ball. A few catches being put down by fielders but they bowled good tight lines and didn't allow the Wickford batting line up to get easy runs. Anujan bowling 16 overs from one end bowled with control and varied his pace well and got the ball swinging both ways continuing his good form with the ball. Wickford were starting to build a partnership finding themselves 83-2. However, a quick burst from Sahil Handa (4-0-19-2) saw him pick up two wickets in one over after drinks and brought Parks back into the game. Wickford were bowled out in the 50th over for 146 runs. This was something that Parks knew would be difficult to chase as the pitch was doing plenty for the bowlers and Parks needed to bat well to beat the unbeaten Wickford.

Parks found it difficult to get runs on the board and found themselves 15-2 off just 5 overs. However the ever reliable Janagan Vijay (30) and Ravi Teja (81*) batted well together at the crease. They appreciated that the wicket wasn't easy to score fluently and ran hard between the wickets and put away the bad balls when they got them. Parks seemed as though they were cruising to victory, but 3 quick wickets from Wickford and the pressure was back on Parks. But Ravi showed all his class with the bat, running hard and being the rock that Parks needed in the most important game of the season so far. Paran finished on 17 not out and ended a game with a 6. This gave Wickford their first defeat of the year but more importantly 20 valuable points for Parks. Parks now sit 4th in the league and are 21 points behind leaders Gidea Park and 16 points off the promotion place. Next week is another big game against Leigh On Sea who are 5th in the league and 7 points behind Parks, hopefully we can make it 6 wins from the last 6 games.
