Match report Parks started their league campaign this weekend against Walthamstow 2nd XI. Having to field first in the heat, PArks battled well throughout and Walthamstow never looked like reaching 200 on a flat pitch with a fast outfield. Charith Jatia bowled well in his two spells, as did veteran Jigar Desai. Wickets fell in the middle overs however, with Santron Thivaharan (3/29) and Zubair Raja (3/27) running through the middle order.

The reply started well, with Jamie Gordon and Usman Rafiq combining to take the score past 80 still 1 down. Unfortunately at this point the wheels fell off. A steady procession of wickets fell and Parks never really looked like they were going to chase the score towards the end. Finishing just 16 runs short, Parks will rue their batting effort, which was the only letdown in an otherwise good display against a decent opposition.
