Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Won By 103 runs

Match report Oakfield won the toss and decided to bat. Both opening batsmen looked assured as they built the partnership, Amanjit Singh was the first to retire having reached 30, and after two quick wickets in the eleventh and twelfth overs his opening partner Sujeev Suganthan (30) also retired. Ali Kahn joined Samuel Varnes in the middle and both batsmen tore into the Gidea Park bowling. Samuel hit a quick-fire 32 before retiring having faced 15 balls and hitting seven 4’s. Oakfield’s hundred came up in the fourteenth over and Ali went on to become the fourth retiree having reached 30. Suleman Shaheen (8*) and Zubair Raja (1*) saw out the innings which finished with Oakfield on 139 for 3 after 20 overs.

Gidea Park & Romford’s batsmen struggled against Oakfield’s attack. Despite gifting 9 extras in his first over Suleman went on to have 3 maidens finishing with figures of 4-3-9-1. Runs off the bat were hard to come by with all bowlers keeping things tight, at the halfway mark there were only 30 runs on the board and the target of 158 was miles away. Gidea Park & Romford finally finished their 20 overs on 55 for the loss of 5 wickets; a win for Oakfield by 102 runs, we now look forward to our trip away to Walthamstow next week.
