Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Lost By 10 runs

Match report The first of the Brian Taylor fixtures was played with Harlow hosting Oakfield Parkonians on Sunday 25th May, with the rain threatening to stop the game during the innings.
Parks elected to bowl after winning the toss & Harlow prepared for an onslaught of runs, with their opening batsman scoring 102 not out. With a few dropped catches Parks’ bowlers were desperate to throw wickets & their breakthrough eventually came during the 11th over of Haider Bin-Vakas’ ball 3-0-13-1 when Ayman Rifan 3-0-13-1 took a crucial catch. The second wicket fell 7 overs later during the 16th over, as Ibad Usman 5-1-12-2 bowled clean batsman number three. The next three overs saw a wicket taken each by Ayman Rifan & Zain Arghandawi 3-0-22-1, with the final wicket coming from Ibad’s delivery during the penultimate over, however Harlow had managed to put 160 runs on the score finishing on a comfortable 166-5 25 overs.
Biprajit Goswami opened the bat with Sheharyar Chaudhry, but was unlucky & got bowled during the first over.
Ayaan Usman came in formed a steady partnership with Sheharyar. Both batsmen batted beautifully scoring some 12 boundaries between them. Harlow’s confident players found themselves struggling to defeat their oppositions partnership & the game took an interesting turn, with Parks looking to defeat their hosts, however success finally came for Harlow during the 19th over & Sheharyar‘s fantastic batting came to an end with a spin ball from their captain. Thereafter every over saw Parks’ wickets fall & sadly an almost won game took a turn once again, this time to a defeat for Parks who finished at 155-6 25 overs.
