Match report On a lovely Saturday morning, OPCC 5th XI Skipper Y. Patel won the toss and decided to field first. OPCC got off to an excellent start with Walthamstow’s Skipper N. Knight holing out to M.Q. Hafeez off the bowling of A. Patel. Walthamstow grinded it out and reached a total of 250-8. Mohammad Shahid and Tayyib Awan batted well for their 83 and 80 respectively. In hindsight OPCC could have fielded better and saved more runs in the field. OPCC got off to a shaky start with A. Beevan getting caught with OPCC 10-1. In came S. Fing who played the shot of the day with an exquisite cover drive. It almost looked like OPCC could pull off a successful chase when N. De Silva and H. Jamil were at the crease however after N. De Silva’s well made 33 OPCC just could not recover and were AO 182 in the 38th Over. Hats off to H. Jamil for an excellent 64*. OPCC can look back and the batting innings and still be proud of posting a score of 180+.
