Match report Parks entertained Epping CC on what was a lovely day for a game of cricket, but a few had expected what was about to unfold…

The pitch looked like a hard, consistent and fair surface. Parks opted to bowl first to try and restrict the opponents to low score. The opening bowlers for Parks set the tone for the rest of the innings and wickets were shared amongst all the bowlers. They well were supported in the field by some excellent catches (special mention to Gurmit for taking a stunning catch on the run at full speed in the deep) and ground fielding, leading to a couple of run outs.

Having restricted a solid batting line up to 126, the game looked dead and buried at the halfway stage. However, Epping applied the pressure by taking key wickets at regular intervals. An excellent 49 by Chetan and a very hard fought 27* by Andrew (having sustained an injury during the match) saw Parks home on the final ball of the match. An amazing game of cricket, one that will stick in the memory for a long time.

This was a huge win for Parks as Epping are currently sitting in one of the two promotional places at the top of the table. The chase is on.. again
