Match report So Parks travelled to South Woodford with vice captain Harris Khan in charge for the day. Sadly he lost what would seem an important toss and we were stuck in.

On a tricky wicket in difficult conditions life was tough and wickets tumbled freely. As they also faced some excellent new ball bowling. Things looked in tatters as we slumped to 33-7 with all hope lost for the day. But then what showed was the importance to have strength in batting all the way down, as the lower order contributed. However, at 61 -9 it looked all over but then the best 10 and 11 partnership you will see saw us to 109. Jai Patel making his first team reintroduction after many year showed his experience and solid knocks in the twos were no flash in the pan, as he scored a quite superb 22 gold dust laden runs. He was supported by number 11 Abdul Razzaq who scored an amazing 25 not out to show case his talents. This last wicket put on 48 runs in what proved to a defining moment and was a partnership not just of quality but character.

So at tea with only 109 to defend parks knew only a great effort would get us the 10 wickets. But getting over 100 and had given us some hope on a tough track. Parks needed control and early wickets. This they got with them at 20-2. Woodford rallied but spin started to work to strangle them with excellent bowling by Abdul Razzaq and Shawn Tuitt. However, the turning point was the reintroduction of Selvam Ramasamy as he blitzed through the South Woodford order to grab 15-32-6 with blistering Yorkers accounting for many. So they slumped to 89-9 and 109 seemed a long way away. But then there number 10 and 11 rallied and they crept to 104 and only 6 needed to win, suddenly they seemed favourites. But up stepped Anujan Thiru, an edge and amazing catch by Harris Khan and victory was gained by 5 runs and 25 points gained.

This heart stopping win meant we stay in second and go 16 points clear with 3 games left. It also meant we have now won 4 in a row. But the games keep coming and we host a very strong Wickford team next week, lets hope we can win again.
