Parks batted first after winning the toss and posted 272 for 6 in 40 overs. Ravi Teja continued his excellent form with the bat and scored another consecutive ton for Sunday’s A team. He retired at 101 and was well supported by Usman Rafiq who played a vital innings of 67 and late cameo innings of 23 from George Christian helped Parks to finish the innings at 272 for 6 wickets. Earlier the Opening pair Tariq Jameel (23) and Eshwar Khambam (28) gave Parks a solid platform with a partnership of 51 within the first 10 overs.
Rotten Livers were short of 56 runs in their run chase despite an explosive start by the openers Umer (44) and Mel (55) scoring 72 in the first 6 overs. It was a good experience for Zayd Ahmed and Talha Raja both U15 colts opening the bowling in a senior game. Talha removed the danger batsman Umer by an excellent delivery which put the visitors in the back foot. Parks turned to spinner George Christian a part time bowler who ripped through the middle order batsmen to claim richly deserved 4 wickets in his allotted 8 overs conceding only 33 runs. Introduction of Ravi Teja paid a dividend to end the resilient batsman Shafiq Khan’s innings of 46. Ravi (3 for 17) took the remaining wickets to end Rotten Livers innings on 216.
