Match report After last weeks poor batting display, Park’s were looking to bounce right back against local rivals Buckhurst Hill CC. Parks captain won the toss and elected to bat first.

Park’s opened with the usual opening pair of George Christian & Shahid Khan, with Shahid failing for a duck in the 6th over. Next in was Eshwar Kambham who with George shared an 80-run partnership, with Eshwar failing for a very sensible 29. Next to join a belligerent George was Adam Goldman, who with George went onto share an unbroken 139 partnership; George (109*) & Adam (76*). Both George & Adam batted with much maturity, pacing the innings to perfection, dispatching the bad balls to all parts of the ground (both hitting 2 sixes each), and running between the wicket to perfection. This enabled Park’s captain to declare on 227 in the 41st over.

Park’s went into bowl with confidence, and the opening bowlers Jigar Desai (12-3-14-4) & Aman Patel (7-2-23-0) got Park’s on the right track with some fine bowling. Buckhurts Hill in the 12th over were four down for only 17 runs. At this time, Park’s were confident that they will get a win. However, the win did not materialise, as Buckhurst Hill pulled down the shutter, refusing to take any risk, playing more with their pads than their bats. Park’s tried 9 bowlers, but unfortunately only managed to take 2 more wickets, both these taken by Chetan Patel (7-1-12-2) who once again bowled very well. Things may have been different had Park’s held onto 3 catches, but in the end the match was a draw; Buckhurst batting for 49 overs, making 98 which included only 76 of the bat for the loss of 6 wickets.

With todays batting display, Park’s enter the ‘overs’ matches from next week with renewed confidence.
