Match report Parks came into this game desperately needing a win to get out of the bottom two. Losing the toss and being put in to bat in damp conditions, Parks started brightly. Despite losing Indi Bhatia early, Haaris Shah found some form with a brisk 58. The innings was held together however, by an excellent 101 not out from George Christian. The next highest score was 16, which shows just how important these runs were. At one stage, Parks were 200 for 9 with 6 overs still to play. Young Om Thakeria held out at one end to ensure Parks batted their full 45 overs, whilst George smashed the ball to the boundary with regularity. It meant a crucial partnership of 45 runs and a very competitive total of 245 to defend.

The reply started well for Parks. A tight opening spell from Matt Holland (1/26) and Sanjaya Fernando (2/23), ensured the run rate required climbed. At one stage, Wanstead were 33/2 off 14 overs. It was the arrival of number 4 Arnold who changed the game. He hit the ball cleanly and put Parks on the back foot. It took a stunning catch from Matt Holland on the boundary to remove him for 82, and then Parks found their way back into the game. Om Thakeria picked up 2 wickets, as did Ibrahim Iqbal, and Parks ended up restricting Wanstead to 207, falling 38 runs short of their target.

A good win which means Parks move up a couple of places in the table.
