Match report A good game of cricket, Parks left feeling a little hard done by as the slow over rate by Old Brentwood restricted Parks the required overs to bowl Old Brentwoods out, we only had 34 overs! How did this story headline unfold?

Parks lost the toss and were put into bat on a soft & green pitch. We didn't start well, with the score 16-3 after 7 overs. Then came a great partnership, with Rushan Pandya (39) again playing the consolidation role really well. He & Jibran Azam (86) batted for 20 overs scoring 80 runs and changing momentum back in favour of the Parks. Jibran wasn't as fluid as normal , but still amassed further scoring in a partnership with Sachin Vara (50) who scored his maiden half-century for Old Parks 1XI. Parks were 177-5 at the 40 over mark and scored a further 78 runs in the last 12 overs with clever batting from V. Handa (13), S Mehta (17) & Baldeep Mann (18 not out) at the end. 259-9 and Parks knew the score was going to be tough to chase on a difficult batting wicket.

Old Brentwoods started off well with a 78 partnership for the first wicket. Parks seamers toiled, but didn't look to trouble the batsmen. Then came on Anton Buntin (7-0-27-4) who had 3 weeks away from the front line. Anton "Hoops" Buntin rediscovered his away swing and took 4 wickets in 4 overs dispatching off the top 4 himself. Then came the spinners, who were once again entrusted to take win the game for the Parks. Shubhang Mehta (9-1-31-2) and Jibran Azam (6-3-7-3) bowled valiantly probing the batsmen with some rippers. Old Brentwoods didn't seem to have a gameplan and the game went down right to the wire with Old Brentwoods 129-9 with 2 overs remaining. A large appeal in the final over as Shane Vamadevan caught a bat/pad at leg slip off Jibran Azam's bowling, but the umpire unfortunately didn't give Parks the decision they were looking for.

A winning draw, but only time will tell whether it was a good result. Westcliff only 7 points behind in 3rd , means the game at home against Harlow remains an important game to continue momentum for our promotion push.
