Oakfield Parkonians CC, Essex 4th XI produced a complete team performance to secure a commanding 189-run victory over Chelmsford CC on Saturday.



After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Oakfield Parkonians posted an impressive 246 all out from 44.3 overs. The innings was anchored by an outstanding contribution from Lakshmi Narayanan, who played a vital knock of 50 to help guide the visitors to a challenging total.



Defending 246, Oakfield delivered one of their sharpest displays in the field all season. The side backed up the bowlers superbly, fielding brilliantly throughout the innings and taking every catch opportunity that came their way to keep constant pressure on Chelmsford’s batters.



Chelmsford’s innings quickly fell apart after the early wicket of Jason Lofthouse at 0-1. David Wilson and Richard Cory soon followed as the hosts slipped to 8-3, with Oakfield’s bowlers and fielders working in perfect combination.



Jordan Campion fought hard for his 27 from 40 balls, striking four boundaries, but regular wickets prevented Chelmsford from building any momentum. The innings was eventually wrapped up for just 57 in 21.4 overs.



Lakshmi Narayanan completed a superb all-round display by taking exceptional figures of 5-8 from 5.4 overs, while Sachin Arora provided excellent support with 3-22 from eight overs. Aren Parmar and Kavinkumar Veloopillai also chipped in with a wicket each.



With disciplined batting, relentless bowling, and faultless catching in the field, Oakfield Parkonians sealed maximum points with one of their most dominant performances of the season.
