Parkonians' innings was defined by Umesh Jinka, who produced a magnificent 115 off 111 balls — 17 fours — to become the cornerstone of a total that was always going to be challenging. It was a mature, controlled innings that showcased his quality at this level, and the dressing room will have watched with enormous pride as he brought up a well-deserved century. His first of many more to come. Akhil Patel provided explosive support with 25 off 21 balls, while Vysan Srividyanandan played a patient and valuable hand of 38 off 64 to keep things ticking through the middle overs. Fazan Habib continued his form with a punchy 27 off 24 balls before Luke Hammatt brought things back for Harold Wood with a five-wicket haul of 5 for 77 from 10.5 overs — a commendable effort that prevented Parkonians from posting an even more imposing total.

What followed in the second innings was simply extraordinary. Upender Sanga produced one of the great individual bowling performances, taking 5 for 7 from 7.3 overs — including 4 maidens — a spell of almost unplayable accuracy and movement that Harold Wood had absolutely no answer to. At times it was difficult to imagine how runs, let alone wickets, were being scored against him. It is the kind of figures that get talked about in dressing rooms for years. Praven Sureshen was barely less impressive alongside him, claiming 4 for 16 from 6 overs to complete a devastating combined assault. Janeban Selvamohan got things started with the early wicket of Sam Smallwood to set the tone. Raheel Mirza top-scored with a defiant 30 and Paul Kearney contributed 21, but there was simply no way through for Harold Wood as wickets tumbled throughout. The visitors were bowled out for a meagre 83 in 27.3 overs, handing Parkonians a resounding 180-run victory.

On days like this, everything clicks — and this was one of those days. A century from Umesh, an extraordinary bowling display from Upen, and a disciplined all-round performance from the whole squad. That's now three back-to-back wins, if Parkonians can replicate this level of performance consistently, promotion is very much within reach.
