Match report OPCC 5th XI Lost to Belhus 4th XI by 5 wickets at home.

Parks won the toss and decided to bat in the hope of getting the maximum points to survive in the division but were again failed to register their first win despite a steady start with 35 for no loss off 5 overs. After Waqar Yusuf’s attack came to an end with a quick fire of 22, Fahad Yusuf was playing calmly and looked elegant with his selection of shots especially the cover drives he played few times before he was bowled misjudging the line for a well-made 29. The wickets tumbled in quick succession with Parks finding themselves 98 for 6 after 23 overs. It could have been a lot better if more application was shown by the middle order batsmen. Parks relied on the low order batsmen Rameyaan Selvamohan (27) and Nilay Tenjura 45 no) to take responsibility to steady the ship and both played sensibly putting the bad balls away and a cameo from Nav Kalley (14 including a one handed huge six landed in the neighbouring 2nd square). Parks ended their innings at a low par 199 after 44.3 overs which was.

Momentum was in our favour, but Belhus got off to a good start despite losing the opener Richard Waters early and reaching 124 for 3 before the last hour of the remaining game. Belhus lost further two more wickets and got over the line with 4.4 overs left. Rakesh Kesireddy (53) and Aariyan Kansagra (53 no) batted well for the Belhus to secure the win. Parks fielding has been poor through out the season which was one of the reasons why 5th XI had no wins under their belt.

Coming to the end of season with no wins, can we still avoid relegation with 3 games left to play?
