For the final match of the season, Parks traveled to Theydon Bois CC to face Loughton. Losing the toss for the first time this season, Parks were sent in to field on a promising-looking pitch for batters. However, opening bowlers Siddharth Barua (5-0-17-0) and Keerthigan Thanagavel (5.2-0-17-1) delivered exceptional spells, making life difficult for the Loughton openers early on. After ten tight overs, Loughton had only managed to crawl to 31 runs.

First-change bowler Ahamed Shahul Hameed (6-2-12-2) made an immediate impact by taking two quick wickets, triggering a collapse as Loughton’s batters struggled to make a mark. The in-form spin duo of Kavinkumar Veloopillai (8-0-27-3) and Upender Sanga (8-0-27-3) wreaked havoc in the middle overs, sharing six wickets between them. Loughton’s opener, Vetri Kannan, put up a solid fight with 47 runs but was run out by a brilliant direct hit from colt Tanay Shetty from deep gully. Loughton were eventually bowled out for a below-par 148 in the 39th over.

In response, Parks’ chase started poorly, losing both young openers by the third over for 16. However, a match-turning 90-run partnership between Ayaan Usman and colt Tanay Shetty stabilised the innings. Tanay batted fluently, scoring 29 with classic textbook shots, while Ayaan Usman played one of his finest innings of the season, smashing 58 runs, including ten boundaries and two massive sixes. Ayaan's aggressive yet controlled batting forced Loughton to rotate through seven different bowlers. After both Ayaan and Tanay departed and Parks needing 30 more runs, senior players Chamara Jayawardana (12*) and Upender Sanga (16*) finished the job, guiding Parks to a 6-wicket victory with 19 overs to spare.

This comprehensive win secured Parks a second-place finish in the league—an achievement that seemed far off at the start of the season. It was a fantastic team effort, well-led by skipper Kavinkumar. With plenty of positives and lessons learned, Parks will look to push for the elusive top spot next season.
