Match report Parks hosted Walthamstow for the second leg of their clash at Oakfield. Walthamstow won the toss and elected to bat first. Parks' opening bowlers applied early pressure with their precision. Sachin Arora (7-5-7-3) stood out, taking 3 wickets for just 7 runs in his 7 overs, pushing the opposition onto the back foot. He was well-supported by Mazhar Mihas (8-1-20-1) and Upen Sanga (13-2-40-2). Walthamstow struggled to gain momentum, inching to a below-par 145-9 in their allotted 45 overs, largely due to their skipper Deepen Gnalalingam’s valiant 61*.

Parks' reply started poorly, finding themselves at 34-4 within the first 15 overs as Walthamstow's opening pacers, F. Ahmed and F. Ahmad, tore through the top order with exceptional swing bowling. This early collapse set the stage for a remarkable partnership between number 5 batsman Siddharth Barua and 13-year-old colt Tanay Shetty, who put together a match-winning stand of over 100 runs. Siddharth (52) continued his good form from the previous week, playing a responsible innings to score his maiden fifty for the club. However, it was young Tanay Shetty (57*) who stole the show, displaying maturity and skill under pressure. He also took a wicket with his left-arm spin, marking the emergence of a future star.

In the end, Parks comfortably won the match by 5 wickets with an over to spare. With two wins in a row, Parks should capitalise on this winning streak to stay ahead in the relegation battle.
