Match report Parks embarked on their first league game of the season against Walthamstow CC at the Parmiters sports ground. Skipper Kavinkumar Veloopillai, winning the toss, opted to field first on a sunny, humid day. Opening bowlers Manicks Shankar (8-1-26-2) and debutant Mohammed (Mo) Kazi (5.3-0-17-0) maintained a disciplined line, making scoring difficult for the Walthamstow batsmen on a slow pitch with a sluggish outfield. Shankar claimed the initial breakthrough, dismissing Essex Senior player Nigel Bloch for 4. Despite Walthamstow reaching 25-1 after the first 10 overs, debutant Upender Saga (8-2-12-2) and skipper Kavinkumar (8-2-9-3) tightened the screws, reducing them to 64-6 by the 30th over. Yash Patel (6-0-30-2) polished off the tail, restricting Walthamstow to 126 all out, with debutant wicket keeper Rohan Jeer impressing behind the stumps taking 3 catches.

In response, Parks commenced their innings with debutants Colt Suryasankara Narayan and Krish Verma. Both batsmen cautiously negotiated the slow pitch, with Verma departing early for 2 to an LBW decision. Suryasangara, aged just 13, displayed maturity, facing the formidable bowling attack for 15 overs and contributing 12 runs. Upender Sanga provided impetus with a brisk 27, but Parks stumbled against the pace and accuracy of young bowler George Wrag (8-3-9-4), losing wickets regularly.
