Oakfield Parkonians 5th XI captain Vijay Vijayanathan duly kept his 100% record and lost the toss again. Surprisingly Ilford skipper decided to bat on a very poor wicket. Against the steady opening Parks attack of Nav Kalley and Aryan Desai, the opening batsmen moved to 32 in the 11th over, Nav Kalley picked up the first wicket. Sachin Arora replacing Aryan Desai bowled beautifully paired with Nav Kalley removed the settled opening batsmen Ratnakar Tiwari with a yorker length ball. Nav continued his marathon spell to take two more wickets, thanks to Tariq Jameel taking a low catch at square leg position, before restricting Ilford to 80 for 4 at the drinks break. After the drink break, Ilford middle order batsmen took advantage of poor bowling and raced to 150 for 5 after 36 over. Nav Kalley’s return to complete his remaining 2 overs paid dividend as he removed the dangerous looking batsman Abaan for 43. Lakshmi Narayanan (1.5-3-3) and Aayush (3-9-1) wrapped up Ilford’s innings for 163. Nav Kalley was the pick of the Parks bowlers finishing with figures 14-44-4.
Parks innings started well as the in-form batsman Tariq Jameel played well on a difficult wicket scored 63, well supported by the young talented Ayaan Usman and put on a match winning opening partnership of 79 in 20 overs. Parks lost AAyush Desai in a quick succession before Lakshmi Narayanan (22) and Sachin Arora (23 no) played sensibly and Parks got over the line with 6 overs to spare.

It was 5th XI’s 4th consecutive win and retains the top spot in their division for the second week.
