Match report With the conclusion of overs game being done for now, the attention was now turned to timed games for the next 9 games and oakfield Parkonians started it off with a trip to bottom of the league Wickford. With the short boundaires and good weather during the week both skippers would have wanted to win the toss and bat first, unfortuantley for Parks it was Wickford who won the toss and did exactly that. Parks started off the innings well picking up some early wickets and applying pressure to the Wickford middle order. However, at 4 was their overseas and he started to turn the game in a flash. With the small boundaires and fast outfield he was making batting look easy and with what started off as a good start for Parks was starting to be pulled away from us and all of a sudden Wickford were looking dangerous. However, when he was finally removed for 80 odd Parks continued to pick up regualr wickets and working hard in the sun. There were some cameos from the Wickford batsmen lower down but eventually they were bowled out for 252 inside the 48th over, meaning that Parks now had 47 overs to chase the target down. Big shout out to Vibhor Yadav for picking up his first 5fer for the club, he bowled extremely well and put in a real shift for the boys and did really well.

The chase started off well with openers Paresh Kalley (32) and Faisal Bhatti (108*) building the platform and making batting look easy. We lost Paresh and Vib back to back and the pressure was on, but Umar Choudhary (40) and Adil Zareef (57) both got in with Faisal at the other end and built a platform for us to go on and win the game with 6 overs to spare. In the end the chase was a realtively simple one but shout out goes to Faisal who batted with absolute class. He has been scoring a bucket load of runs in the 2s for a while and it was a pleasure to see him take his opportunity in his first call up this year. He took his time and saw off the good balls but when it was neccessary and in his hitting arch he out the bad balls away to the boundary. This now leaves Parks 24 points off top with a big game at home next week against 2nd place Springfield.
