Match report After the brilliant win against Wanstead in the QF, Parks knew a win against Brentwood wouldn’t be easy but not impossible, and we would be within touching distance of the final. Parks won the toss and elected to bat first, on this overcast, windy day. It was risky but what we felt comfortable with.

The pitch seemed like there might be a little in it for the bowlers but the small boundaries were something to be weary off.

Parks got off to a slow start with Brentwood opening bowlers keeping a good line and making it difficult especially with the wind. Suryasankara Lakshminaryan and Tanay Shetty held their nerve and saw off the opening bowlers. Suryasankara slowly opened up on the 10th over and started playing freely after which we lost 3 quick wickets on the other end. Pressure was on when Vyasan Srivardarsan walked in. They ended up putting on a 127 run partnership in which Suryasanakara hit a fabulous 115 of 73 balls and Vyasan assisted with 55 runs of 58 balls, with Parks finishing on 218/5 in 30 overs.


Brentwood now needing in excess of 7 runs we were feeling able, Parks took control but knew key wickets were needed. With weather conditions brightening up, Krishiv Vyas’s 5 overs took 2 wickets for 20 runs along with Vyasan Srivardasrsan’s 5 overs, 35 runs and 2 wickets. Brentwood were restricted to 206/8 in 30 overs.

In what was a truly, exhilarating match played with upmost sportsmanship from both teams, Parks are into the BT Final…..
