Match report Following a run of decent results and performances on the backend of the timed games, 4s went into this weekend full of optimism and lots of sunblock. Winning the toss on a scorching hot day, captain Manicks Shankar put the oppo in to bat. Young Sriraman Srividyanandan continued his fine form by taking 4 wickets, bowling with pace, skill and accuracy. He clean bowled three of his victims & even the opposition batsmen were in awe of his talent. He was very well supported by Manicks Shankar himself, who also clean bowled one of the openers albeit on the other end of the pace spectrum and only conceded a single run in the 4 overs he bowled. Other bowlers also provided good back up with Lakshmi Narayanan, Vajran Srividyanandan and newcomer Princis Alvin all contributing with wickets. With Parks going into the game with only 10 players, despite the outstanding start it was difficult to contain the runs and the Walthamstow tailend wagged their way to 173 with a solid contribution (45) from one of their old-timers.

The bowling and fielding performance gave Parks a chance to take a win against an unpredictable side and long term rival. Openers Fazan Habib and Ibad Usman provided a solid start to the chase putting on a 70 run partnership. Both played some eye catching shots and turned the screw on the bowlers by balancing solid technique in defence with aggression when the opportunity presented itself. Fazan Habib eventually fell for 37, but Ibad Usman went onto make a well deserved 50 (his second in three matches). A few wickets fell in quick succession but in the end Parks comfortably strolled to an excellent win.
