Match report Winning the toss, Parks opted to field on a sloping pitch that looked more suited for bowlers than batsman. Parks opened the bowling with Manicks Shankar (11-4-24-0) and Sachin Arora (9-2-22-2). Both bowlers bowled tight lines and West Essex struggled to score early on. Both opening batsmen departed without scoring by the 3rd over and the first change bowlers Yash Patel (6-1-24-3) and Nikhil Mukherjee (3-1-19-1) made it even more difficult to score by taking wickets at regular intervals. West Essex struggled their way to 56-6 at the 20 over mark. Number three batman Zaman made a fighting 78 with the support of the tail and West Essex was bowled out for 157 after 41 overs. Aman Patel (8.5-0-35-3) bowled well towards the end to clean up the tail and wicket keeper Alan Buquet contributed to three wickets by a brilliant stumping, a run out (Yash) and a caught behind.

In reply, Parks opened their innings with Yash Patel (14) and debutant U13 Ayaan Usman (17). Both batted freely and raced to 30-0 in the first 4 overs. Ayaan in particular exhibited his recent good form and his attacking brand of cricket by scoring a quick fire 17 including 3 perfectly executed boundaries. When Ayaan departed for a mis-hit, well caught at point, Fazan Habib (48) came in and played a measured innings which was the back bone of the innings and was unlucky not to get his fifty. Few quick wickets fell in the middle but an injection of runs by hard hitting Inderjit Singh (24) with few of his typical towering sixes and contributions from Gurmit Bhatia (13) and Alan Buquet (14*) helped Parks to get over the line with 11 overs to spare and win the match by 4 wickets.

This was a much-needed win for the team that performed very well in all three departments.
