Match report Parks travelled to Old Brentwoods on a hot sunny day and to their surprise was greeted with an artificial pitch and an uneven but fast outfield. Parks lost the toss and was invited to bat first. After scrambling for appropriate foot ware, Parks opened the innings with a new opening pair in Amar Desai and returning all-rounder Yash Patel.

The innings did not start well as Parks lost both Amar Desai and Fazan Habib in the 2nd over to some unplayable fast swing bowling by Nick Bowles. However, Yash Patel and number four batsman Badri Srinivasan settled in quickly and started to build a partnership. Yash playing as an opener for the first time was brutal at times punishing any lose balls to the boundary line and went onto score his maiden century (104) for the club. It was an innings with controlled aggression and concentration to showcase the batting capabilities against a very good bowling attack. Badri on the other end played a stylish and measured innings for his 70 helping to put a partnership of 159 with Yash. Parks ended their innings with 244 – 7 after 45 overs.

Opening bowler Ashwin Sureshen (7.4-0-40-1) once again bowled well and removed the dangerous attacking batsman Richard Bray for 19 on the 5th over, caught by Amar Desai. Manicks Shankar (8-0-46-1) on the other end cleaned bowled Nick Bowles on the 6th over with scores at 20-2. After that, wickets were hard to come by and most bowlers struggled to find the line on the artificial pitch. Nikhil Mukherjee and Yash Patel bowled well without much luck. Parks skipper tried nine different bowlers and only Fazan Habib (2-0-12-1) was able to make a breakthrough in the final stages of the match taking one more wicket with his hostile but accurate bowling. In the end Old Brentwoods successfully chased down the target with 4 overs to spare. Benjamin Loader scored his second consecutive century and third for the season for Old Brentwoods.

A hard-fought game and Parks walked away with 9 valuable points and number of positives to build on especially in the batting department.
