Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Lost By 64 runs

Match report Oakfield Parkonians travelled away to league leaders Belhus hoping to carry on from their win last week. Things started off well as Parks won the toss and decided to bowl first on a very grassy pitch .
Jonathan Balakumar (9-1-31-3) gave Parks the early breakthroughs and helped put them in a commanding position after the first 10 overs. His opening spell was followed up but pure class of Yash Patel (9-1-18-1) and young Prajen Kavinkumar (9-0-38-2) both bowled excellent areas and made the batsmen look like rather clueless. Yash in particular was very unlikely only to grab the one wicket as he made the batsmen play and miss countless times in his spell. Skipper Matthew Holland carried on his form from the previous week with figures of 9-1-28-2 pushing him to league leading wicket for the division. At the end of the 45 overs Belhus managed 181 for 9, a little more then what OPCC wanted but a score they were confident to chase.

Krishan DilipKumar started off well reaching 18 with some gloriously timed shots until he was dismissed. This brought the main from last week in Badri and Nikhith. Both batting beautifully until a one handed screamer dismissed Badri. From here it went down hill rather quickly with wickets falling in regular intervals. Nikhith tried his best to carry on his form but a sharp caught and bowled catch had him dismissed for 34. Jonathan Balakumar tried to carry through to the end but a direct hit had his dismissed for a very well made 24. Oakfield were all out for 118 64 runs short of the target, but with 15 overs left. Lots to learn from this for the young Parks side showing the importance of batting out the overs. Onto next week where OPCC face Upminster at home.
